Recap of Twitter chat on NBA, Seattle and Steve Ballmer

We held a Twitter chat Thursday morning about the NBA, Seattle and Steve Ballmer to discuss his comments that Seattle is not ready for a new NBA franchise. The Microsoft chief executive previously led an investment group to try to keep the Sonics in Seattle, but they moved to Oklahoma and became the Thunder.

Seattle Times sports reporters Danny O'Neil, Jerry Brewer and I kicked off the chat. Along the way, we picked up Jason Puckett from KJR-AM Radio, Xconomy writer Curt Woodward (who used to cover the state Legislature for the Associated Press) and many basketball fans and geeks also jumped on using the hashtag #BBALLmer. We even had a cameo from Benjamin Romano, who covered Microsoft for The Seattle Times before me. Dallas Morning News reporter Marc Ramirez, another former Seattle Times reporter, jumped in briefly.

You can read Ballmer's comments about the NBA in our story here.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and thank you all our Twitter followers for putting up with the tweet storm. There were lots and lots of tweets with many threads -- so many that #BBALLmer was trending on Twitter in Seattle. Click here to see all the #BBALLmer tweets. I have posted the highlights below.
