Xbox 360 getting live TV, voice-based Bing searching this fall

Live TV is coming to the Xbox 360. At today's E3 keynote press conference, Microsoft's Marc Whitten revealed that the company has partnered with "leading TV partners in the United States and around the world" to bring live TV to the console. The service will be launching this fall.

The service can be controlled via Kinect voice recognition, and includes a DVR feature. Whitten described it as "our vision for the future of television."

To improve the console's search capabilities, MS also announced that its own search engine, Bing, will be coming to the 360. Again, this can be controlled by voice, and allows you to search all of the content providers on the 360. So, for instance, if you say "Xbox Bing X-Men," it will bring up a list of all of the games and movies in the X-Men franchise.

There were two other video content related announcements as well. First, YouTube is coming to the 360, as well as some significant support for UFC. You'll be able to order and watch pay-per-view events from your Xbox, as well as wager points on fights and look at interactive fighter stats.

Whitten said that more partnerships will be announced over the next few months.
