In that filing, Bethesda claimed that Interplay only licensed the Fallout trademark to use in relation to a massively multiplayer online game, but they didn't have the right to use any other Fallout assets -- including characters, settings, or storylines. In their new court filing (via Gamastura), Interplay strongly rejects Bethesda's interpretation of the licensing deal. "Bethesda's interpretation requires Interplay to develop and release an MMOG under the Fallout name, but unrelated to the Fallout brand," the response reads.
