The sequel looks to put Alex Mercer, the lead from the original game, in the role of antagonist this time around. A new character is shown vowing to destroy Mercer with the tagline "To Kill a Monster, You Must Become One." Prototype is scheduled for release in 2012. Look for it on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
The latest premiere at the Spike VGAs is a sequel to the 2009 open world title Prototype.
