Latest free music search on Bing somewhat limited

Last June Bing rolled out new music search features at a Hollywood press event. The new Bing Music search featured the ability to play five million full-length songs for free for the first listen. Bing uses the Zune music library to provide the free song plays.

We've been searching around Bing Music lately and some of the latest releases are not available for full plays on the first listen. Songs from the latest Kanye West album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" are only available for 30-second plays. The Dr. Dre single "I Need a Doctor" is also only available for a 30-second play.

Microsoft said in a statement that the free plays depend on restrictions set by the music label.

Here is the earlier Seattle Times story about the new entertainment search features Bing rolled out last year.
