Crysis 2 Minimum Specs Outlined

As far as games go, Crysis was one of the better ways to benchmark your computer and see just how fast it really was. Crysis 2's minimum specs have been officially announced and could force many gamers to upgrade their systems just as its predecessor did.

The minimum specs, courtesy of the game's German Facebook page:

• OS: XP / Vista / Windows 7
• CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz, AMD Athlon 64 X2 2GHz or better
• GPU: nVidia 8800GT 512MB RAM, ATI 3850HD 512MB RAM or better
• Memory: 2 GB RAM
• Hard Drive: 9 GB
• Audio: DirectX 9.0c-compatible
• DVD ROM: 8x

You'll also need an active Internet connection when you install the game. Keep in mind, these are the system requirements -- the recommended specs are still to come and will undoubtedly generate plenty of business for Newegg.

Despite originally being announced as an Xbox 360 exclusive, the game's multiplayer demo will be coming to PC before its release on March 22. Beyond getting an early taste of what the full version has in store, the demo should be a useful tool for PC gamers to see if their rig will be capable of running the game with a reasonable frame rate.
