We strongly suggest playing the game before you read this post. It will only take a few minutes.
I died with my daughter. I figured the cure was a dead end, so we drifted away in the park, enjoying a gentle snow.
That's how the world ended. It's not how it had to end. When I try to play the game again I see my digital self, my daughter's body slumped against me. I'm not sure what I should have done differently, but as the game continually reminded me, I had only one chance.
That's the gimmick behind One Chance, a Flash game that shows you what happens after a cure for cancer turns out to be a pathogen that ends life on Earth. You have six days to live your life, and I believe there are ways to "win" the game, but you only get one pass through to make your decisions unless you want to jump on another computer or fiddle with your browser's settings until it forgets you played. I wouldn't call that cheating, but I'm happy with my ending. Or at least satisfied with it.
This is one of those games that you need to play before it's discussed, and it shouldn't take you long to find your own ending. Go play, but try to avoid spoilers in the comments, I'd like to keep the discussion on how the game made you feel, and why you did what you did. You have one chance.
