Scientists who research the impact of climate change on threatened species often come up with predictions of how species will fare in response to rising temperatures, melting icecaps, and changing weather patterns. But how accurate are these estimates? New research in PNAS suggests that studies published in leading journals are very good at predicting taxa-specific effects of climate change. If anything, these predictions are actually a bit conservative compared to what actually happens across the globe.
